In 2024, I began a search for earth pigments in Minas Gerais in Brazil along with my cohorts at Joules & Joules. The small diaristic paintings are like pages from my journal filled with memories of a voyage in search for light and color with a focus on Brazil’s vast and all-encompassing landscape alongside its endless farms.

The fertility of the earth and the heat of the sun were at the core of these paintings.

This research was supported by the Fulbright Scholar Award.
